Your name and your cosplay nickname.
My name is Briece, but I go by Viz. It’s a shortened version of visual|disorder, my online persona / name. One of my friends shortened it to Viz. I also go by Vizzie. c:
How long have you been cosplaying? How many cosplays have you done?
Um… I’d say about four years? I’m not exactly sure. As for costumes, I believe I’ve had about eleven or twelve? I’m not sure. xD
Favorite cosplay you’ve worn?
Hm… I’m not sure. I really like TYL!Xanxus because he’s BA and the first real cosplay I enjoyed wearing. But there isn’t really one that’s my favorite… I haven’t had one yet that I can easily dub as my favorite.
Favorite con memory?
All the time I’ve spent with friends has been wonderful. OhayoCon 2011 and ColossalCon 2011 were the best, simply because I spent hours with friends just talking and enjoying ourselves.
What kind of music do you like to construct your cosplays to?
Mostly whatever I feel like listening to at the time. Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of techno and remixes, as well as some rock music like Icon for Hire and Thousand Foot Krutch.
What kind of food do you eat at conventions?
I don’t focus enough on food to care. When I’m with Tori, I go where ever she can eat (mostly Steak & Shake). At the conventions, I rarely eat, really. Every now and then I’ll snack on something, but it just doesn’t cross my mind to actually eat.
Weirdest possession you have because of cosplay?
I have a board harness with PVC pipe and all for Apollo’s wings. That’s probably the weirdest thing, lawl.
Would you rather be in front of the camera or behind it at cons?
Recently, I’m more interested in being in photos than taking them. I’m getting more into my cosplays and with more effort comes the bigger desire to show off what I can, and that comes through photos. Although with my most recent cosplay (Apollo), I didn’t get a chance to get any pictures of him. I’m still kind of upset about that.
I do like taking pictures, though, so that’s still an option in my mind. I’d just prefer to have pictures.
What’s the most people you’ve fit in a hotel room? (Fire code, what’s that?)
Nine people, at OhayoCon 2012. But that was all of us actually rooming together. At one con we had about 20 or so people just sitting around together in one room. c:
Your dream cosplay.
I honestly have no idea. There are many cosplays I want to complete and I want them to be awesome. I don’t have one picked out as a dream costume.
The hardest thing about cosplay? The easiest?
Picking a cosplay alone is difficult. But it’s also fun. Sewing can get hard, but it can be easy. The easiest part is enjoying yourself and having fun. c:
Do you have a favorite con? (Fanime, ACEN, AX, etc)
ColossalCon, probably. I dunno.
Estimate how much money you’ve put into cosplay. (Feel poor.)
Oh, geez. I’d say at least $1000. At least.
If you could get married in cosplay, would you?
That would be so wonderful. I would in a heartbeat without a doubt.
Your favorite cosplay photographer?
Um… I dunno many photographers. I avoid looking at pictures because others’ cosplays depress me. I love Tofu's photographs, but I'm biased. c:
Compare your first cosplay to your most current cosplay. How have you improved and what do you need to work on?
My first cosplay was L Lawliet, and I only bought the clothes and threw together the costume. My most recent cosplay is Szayel Apollo Granz (release form), and I made all the parts of that costume. Comparing the two is almost like night and day. I’m greatly improved in sewing, but I still have a lot to learn. Apollo was my first costume I made on my own, and there are a lot of flaws in it. I still have a lot to learn.
